Hi, my name is Júlio Lobo Pimentel.
Since 2013, I started as a freelance photojournalist, covering reports for the portuguese newspaper Diário de Notícias.
Later in 2016, the opportunity to merge my passion in journalism with film started with a job as a videographer for Observador. Here, I discovered the two opposite sides of film in a newspaper (documentary and branded content projects).
For every project I embrace, the more I want to learn and the more I want to practice.
By learning and gaining more experience in video editing, I began a new adventure by working as a filmmaker with Other Features, a music festival/video production company.
After working in music content, I then transitioned into new territory by joining Forever in Movies (advertisement production company) as a resident editor in 2018.
Editing is storytelling. It’s technical craft and good bedside manner too, but the real job is story.
After some years of experience in editing, in 2020 I made the choice of going freelance to work alongside more storytellers and to embrace more projects.
I have a strong sense for pace and for building real feelings to elevate a cut. I am currently looking out for new projects, so if you need an editor, give me a call.
